Ocean Point Column
November 29,2018
By Maryellen Bertrand
Ocean Point had their first snowfall of the season last week
as seen in beautiful pictures posted on the website by Tom McGonegal which were
submitted by Julie Brown.
Beautiful photos can also be seen in the November 21 edition
of the paper taken by Steve Edwards of the Register, there are 2 along the
shore by 3 Trees and one overlooking Grimes Cove.
I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday with family
and friends! Our family usually celebrates in Maine, however this year we
stayed local as we have a new little member of our family. Baby Thomas (named
after my dad for those who remember him) was born November 1 to my nephew
Michael and his wife Katherine. Congratulations to dad and mom and first time
grandparents Michael and Lois Meagher.
Liz and Dick Colten gathered with all their family for the
holiday, daughter Ann and granddaughter Eliza arrived from California and son
Jerry his wife Costanza and their boys from Milan. Both Dick and Liz were happy to all be together.
Ginny Kern and her son Grant and daughter Jennifer travelled
to Boothbay to celebrate Thanksgiving with her mom.
Link and Julie Brown recently returned from a month long
whirlwind trip which took them to Chicago before boarding a train to Seattle
and Vancouver. From there they sailed aboard ship to Alaska and then on to
Japan. On their return to the states they stopped in Los Angeles to visit with
their son Chris and daughter in law Lisa before heading home to, as Julie
describes it,” good ole Ocean Point”
Congratulations to 5-year-old James Rush who competed in his
school’s Turkey Trot recently and finished first in his age group!
In case you missed it! The deadline for column submission
has been changed to 3 P.M. on Mondays so please send along your news to me by
Sunday if possible, thank you.
Please remember to check the website often as updates on our
Preservation Project will be forthcoming.
Happy holiday shopping and have a great week!!
