Finally we are experiencing some spring like weather which naturally creates a desire to return to Ocean Point. The BRWD has posted some information regarding seasonal water turn on so be sure to visit their website for updates in the coming weeks.

It’s been a difficult winter for several Ocean Point families with surgeries, illness and loss of loved ones.

Dianne Eakin reports that she visited with her brother Denny in Houston recently as he was experiencing congestive heart failure. Dianne reports that they had a wonderful visit and he is recuperating.

Sadly on February 9 Marilyn Ross passed away peacefully at her winter home in Tucson, Arizona with her family by her side. Marilyn enjoyed spending her vacation time at Ocean Point with her husband Chris and their children Michael, Karen, Susan and Peter. Each year they would make the long journey by car from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to visit with the Ross family, Todd, Mary and Gail. Upon their arrival they wasted no time thoroughly enjoying every moment no matter what the activity.

Marilyn loved walks around Ocean Point stopping to visit with friends along the way, a good game of cards and making jam with her sister in law Gail. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and friend who developed many creative talents throughout her life. Her family, friends and the Ocean Point community will certainly miss her.  Our condolences to her husband Chris, sons Michael and Peter, daughters Karen and Susan and their spouses as well as grandchildren Jack, Nate, Seth, Paige, Liam and sister in law Gail Ross.

Please help me in welcoming the newest residents of Ocean Point, Shawn and Alicia Raymond from Houston, Texas. Shawn and Alicia have purchased the Peter Lewis cottage and are excited to be a part of our community.

As I previously mentioned a new membership list is currently being created by Jen Klein along with a new website. I have had the opportunity to view the site and to actually post some information for all of you. The spring mailing will be sent out in 2 weeks and will include a letter from our president Matt Lindley, the 2017 summer activities calendar as well as information on accessing the new website and becoming a member. The new website is quite interactive and informative so be sure that you have your email information to Jen Klein before the mailing at jenkmaz24@gmail.com.

Have a great week!
