HERE WE GO!
3 April 2017
Judging from the telephone calls we have been receiving from our
seasonal customers there appears to be great interest from our snowbirds
to return to the Boothbay region. As of now there remains several
inches of snow on the ground with evening temperatures well below
freezing, making startup of the seasonal system a challenge. Our
distribution division crews are inspecting their specific seasonal water
service routes for winter damage and are in the process of making
repairs to the system.
Once the seasonal distribution system has been inspected with obvious
repairs completed, our licensed water utility technicians will begin
flooding and flushing the distribution system, repairing any further
leaks discovered, disinfecting the distribution system with
chlorine, flushing the system again, testing the water mains to ensure
they are free of pathogens and then establishing our nearly 2,000
seasonal water services. It is a big job that has been compressed into a
short amount of time due to this years weather. Seasonal Water
Service will be established by 1 May 2017.
Below is our seasonal water service matrix, please check daily to track our progress in bringing you water service.
