Ocean Point Column Oct.27

Ocean Point Column
October 27,2016
By Maryellen Bertrand

It seems a bit peculiar to no longer be at Ocean Point, however, we will return soon enough to attend Gardens a Glow. Many of the area shops and restaurants will remain open during this time;Ornes Candy which is owned and operated by Ocean Pointers Jean and John Webster along with Arthur Webster will remain open until Harbor Lights.

Former Ocean Pointer Bruce Lewis sent a wonderful email reminiscing about his childhood memories of summering at the Point.  Once you have experienced a summer vacation here those happy recollections somehow always remain with you.
Thank you Bruce for sharing your memories.

The Colony Trust is actively seeking people for a few openings. As you may know Ginny Kern our AD will not be returning next summer and so we are searching for her replacement. If you know of anyone who may be interested in the position please contact myself at m.bertrand1@verizon.net or Liz Dawson Holland at elizabeth_ann_dawson@yahoo.com for further information and job description.
This position includes housing.

The Trust also needs someone to take over chairing the Building and Grounds Committee as Link Brown has retired. This is a volunteer position and consists of monitoring and overseeing any repairs that may need attention in the buildings and around the grounds.
And if you are technically adept and are familiar with web design we are in need of an individual to help build the OPCT’s communication network. If you are interested in either of these positions please contact Matt Lindley at klindley@nycap.rr.com for further information.

Have a great week!
