in California for the last several years and has just recently moved east to
attend school. Please come and join in what I know will be a fabulous class. If
you don’t have a mat Lara has some available; Yoga will begin Friday July 1
The Casino will close Friday afternoon in preparation for
our annual Chicken Barbeque on Saturday July 2.Tickets are currently on sale
through Donna Logan by calling her at 633-7202 or she will be available for

in the day the annual Horribles Parade will begin at 9:30 at Grimes Cove

Rev.Wesley A. Smith will conduct Sunday services at the Wilson
memorial Chapel on July 3. Rev. Smith is Minister of the First Baptist Church
in Hamilton, N.Y. Also on Sunday the weekly softball game will take place at 11

you have not had an opportunity to purchase her book you will have that
opportunity at the book signing. Please keep 4 p.m Sunday open for the second
Town Hall Meeting also at the Casino.
There is certainly reason for celebration in the Kern Family
as Ginny and Ted recently attended two of their children’s graduations.
Congratulations to Grant Kern who graduated from the University Of Maine Magna
Cum Laude with a degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation Grant travelled
to England, Spain, Croatia and Germany and returned to begin a job with Gorrill
Palmer in South Portland as a Design Engineer. Their daughter Jennifer
graduated with honors from Greeley high school in Cumberland and will attend
The University of New England to pursue a degree in Public Health or Nutrition.
Sam Kern was named to the Dean’s list at Haworth College of Business at Western
Michigan University where he will graduate in the spring of 2017;he was
recently promoted to Leasing Manager at 58 West in Kalamazoo.
Jack and Marilyn Heise are enjoying their new home and
recently took a trip to Boston, Newport Rhode Island and Providence to show
their granddaughter Caroline the sites. They attended the US Gymnastics
Championship in Providence as Caroline is an accomplished gymnast in Atlanta.
They toured the mansions in Newport and all of the historic sites of
Boston. Caroline and her family will visit
Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park this summer. Lauren Heise will travel
to Costa Rica on a humanitarian mission with her church group.
Marilyn and Jack hosted an over night for friends Helen and
Paul Weaver who recently purchased a home on Mt. Desert Island, they loved
Ocean Point.
I know many of us here at the Point enjoy the food and
convenience of the East Boothbay General Store and now there is another bonus
that Liz will be providing, a catering service. Stop by and pick up a menu and
keep Liz in mind for any event that you are planning this summer.
I just want to remind Ocean Pointers to check the website
for any changes to the calendar that have been made; there are a few already. I
am looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday for our holiday celebration.
Have a great week!
