A sure sign that the season is coming to a close is when the
ducks have taken their position on the float at Grimes Cove in place of the
many swimmers who utilize the float all summer long.
The spectacular weather brought many Ocean Pointers back for
the long holiday weekend.
Chris and Hannah Webber visited just before the holiday to
introduce us to their adorable son Christopher (Chip) Webber IV for the first
time.
The Slayton Family celebrated the end of the season with a
reunion. Rich and Stephanie, Jeff and Barb, Roger and Lisa, Bob Slayton and
Bob’s friend Dolly Raiten all enjoyed the fabulous holiday weather. Gus,
Rhonda, Adelle and William were visiting Rich and Stephanie prior to the weekend.
Ken Schroeder returned for the holiday weekend as did his
sister Melisa, husband Henry Bliss and their twins Owen and Sam.
Jim, Kevin and Kyle Rush returned with the hope of playing
one last softball game of the season however, there were not enough players for
that to occur.
If you were here for the holiday weekend you should have
received a notice asking that you participate in a Preservation Survey. The
survey may be taken electronically or via mail. Please contact president@oceanpointcolonytrust.org
and request to be included in the survey. Everyone is urged to participate so
that your thoughts and opinions are included in the future decision making
process.
The Wilson Chapel was a busy scene this summer with weddings
occurring every weekend; Ocean Pointers who recently exchanged vows at the
chapel were Kevin Haley and Amanda Perla, they were married on August 15. Kevin
is the son of Cricket (Molter) and Tom Haley and grandson of Sonny and Louise
Molter.
Anna Marden and Rick Adams exchanged vows on September
12,all of the Marden family were in attendance for the happy occasion. Anna is
the daughter of Jen and Eric Marden and granddaughter of Bob and Scoop. Congratulations
to both couples.
A beautiful aerial video of Ram Island filmed by Jonne Trees
is now posted on the Blog for all to view thanks to Tom McGonegal. Tom does a
fabulous job of keeping us all informed with what is happening in the region.
Several Ocean Pointers have recently retired and are
enjoying their extended stay at the Point. Congratulations to Gerry Shea, Peter
Newell, Bonnie Bennet, Donna Logan and Maureen Dubois many healthy happy years
ahead for you all.
A Wicked Tide, a historical novel written by Ocean Pointer
Greg May was released for publication recently. His novel takes place in the
Perkins Cove section of Ogunquit in the 1920’s and is filled with intrigue
adventure, mayhem and questionable characters. You can read more about the book
on Greg’s Facebook page
There is still time to purchase an Ocean Point 2016 calendar
