Ocean Point Column

The summer season is winding down as the Casino is now
officially closed. Thank you to Ginny Kern our AD for a fabulous job; we all
appreciate her outstanding effort and we will look forward to her return next
summer.
Dianne Eakins
recently celebrated the Morse Family reunion along with her brothers Denny and
Steve at Hilton Head. There were 22 family members in attendance ranging in age
from 2-77. Dianne reported that it could not have been better.
Karen Wales was visiting the Point with her children Hadley,
Lucy, Stevie and Annie. Also visiting was her sister Sarah, husband Noah and
their son Max. Karen and her family will be attending the annual Goodrich
gathering over the Labor Day weekend.
Sue Goodrich took a fabulous picture of the bald eagle
sitting in our tree last week. Other sightings of the eagle have occurred
around the ball field. Sue’s picture can be seen on the OP Blog.
A reminder that a new stop sign has been installed at the
corner of High Street and Middle Rd. Please remember to drive cautiously around
Ocean Point, as there are many pedestrians and children on bikes.
Congratulations to Mike Anderson, who had a hole in one on
17 in the Cuckolds Cup tournament this past weekend,
The last Sunday service was held at the Wilson Chapel on
August 30.
There was no ball game that day due to a decreasing number
of players which was disappointing as Joe Shea was here for the weekend with
many of his friends to celebrate his birthday; they were all looking forward to
participating in our weekly Sunday game.
Let’s hope we can squeak out one more game before the season officially
ends next weekend.
Tish and Tom McGonegal celebrated their 49th
wedding anniversary this past weekend, congratulations to you both.
There is a donation box for the Food Panty on the Casino
porch, thanks to Liz Colten for taking on this important task.
Enjoy this incredible weather and have a great week!
