Ocean Point Column
May 21,2015
By Maryellen Bertrand
As the month rolls along there is more activity at Ocean
Point, several residents have returned for the season. It was great to see Pam
and Dick Nolan and Pete and Barb Newell and Dana and Cheryl Demers. Paul
Anderson has returned as has Alex Hall and Ken Schroeder.
I enjoyed catching up with Jackie Evans one day last week
and hearing about her family's busy life. Jackie’s husband Rob is the son of John and Sue Evans. Their
daughter Emily is graduating from high school and will attend High Point
University in North Carolina in the fall. Their son Sam continues to be
involved in theatre and will be touring and performing in England and France
this summer with his theatre group.
Jackie and Rob hope to spend some vacation time at the Point
sometime this summer.
Jill Carrick heads the search committee coordinating the
schedule of ministers for the Wilson Memorial Chapel. Jill would like to inform
everyone that there are 2 open dates available for services, August 23 and
September 6. If you have a recommendation for a minister she would appreciate
you contacting her at jcarrick@wilsonseminary.org.
The Ocean Point Inn is opening this Memorial Day weekend and
as an added bonus, the dining room will open as well. It’s the first time the
dining room will be available so early in the season so take advantage of this
great opportunity.
Also, don’t forget to stop at the EB General store for a
sandwich, snack or maybe a forgotten grocery item and support Liz.
Happy Memorial Day as we honor our deceased members of the Military.
Have a great week!
