We all lost a wonderful friend this past Thursday.
Not only Ocean Pointers, but all those who knew Judy Dawson, will
remember her as a beautiful presence among us and for her remarkable
courage in recent years . She was a wise and capable woman who had
a welcome greeting for all she met. She was a loyal friend who gave good
counsel. Among other qualities was a wonderful sense of humor and a
witty streak.
She gave her time to many Ocean Point activities over the years,
including being a former chairman of the Activities Committee. Without
recognition she kept the casino kitchen supplied with paper products at
the beginning of each season and took charge of cleaning the kitchen at
the end of the summer. She chaired many a pancake breakfast, food sale
and rummage sale over the years as well. She could be seen in recent
years riding to the Casino on her golf cart with grandchildren in tow.
Judy particularly enjoyed being at her cottage surrounded by her
children and grandchildren. She loved a good book, theater, including
the Maine State Music Theater, and the symphony. A cup of coffee at her
cottage was her way of spending time with friends.
She will be sadly missed by each of us who knew her. -- Holly Hornor
