By Maryellen Bertrand
I hope this column finds that you all arrived safely to your
winter residence after a spectacular holiday weekend, It was difficult not to
be there this past week especially if you saw the amazing sunrise that Rusty
Court captured one morning The picture is on the OP Blog so check it out if you
haven’t already. Thank you Rusty for sharing your photo with us, Sue Goodrich
also posted a fabulous sunset picture on the blog as well, thank you Sue. These
images will certainly remind us of how lucky we all are and keep us going
through those long winter months,
Speaking of the OP Blog, there are many interesting posts so
be sure to read them. You can access the blog through the link on the OP
website. Also, be sure that you are on the OP email list to receive any news or
updates.
There is some exciting news this week from the Newell
Family. Ben and Stephanie (Newell) Kaler welcomed their new baby boy, Everett
Gordon Kaler, on Tuesday October 22nd, in Amherst N.H.
Congratulations to Great Grandparents, Gus and Barbara Newell, Grandparents
Pete and Barbara Newell and Mary Kaler of Boothbay and to Aunt Kari and big
brother Jack. Barb reports that all are doing well. Can’t wait to meet Everett
in the Horribles Parade next summer.
We also have a new family ready to reside at Ocean Point.
Patrick McGranaghan and his wife Rhea Lee and their two daughters Jasmine and
Sophia have purchased the cottage located at 15 First Street. They reside in
Villanova PA and discovered our beautiful peninsula while vacationing this past
summer. They are extremely excited about joining the OP community and we look
forward to meeting them in the spring,
We are always seeking volunteers for the various activities
so if you can help with any of the activities please contact myself or another
member of the Activities Committee. Current members of the committee include:
Sue Kern, Ginna Yerrall, Ginny Kern, Donna Logan, Jessica Pohl, Annie Fischer,
and Kate Dawson. Also, we are actively seeking a Grand Marshall for next
