Ocean Point Column
April 25,2019
By Maryellen Bertrand
Currently the BRWD is working diligently to get the water on
for us and at last report made some tremendous progress. Keep checking their
website for the most current updates.
We hope to return once our meter has been installed.
As previously mention there will be a service for Larry
Hornor on Saturday April 27 at 1:00 P.M. at the Unitarian Universalist Church,
10 ElmStreet, Milford, N.H.
Sadly, Ocean Point has lost another of our beloved
residents. Roberta Alden passed away peacefully on April 13 with her family at
her side.
My many memories of Roberta include how active and athletic
she was; she loved swimming, boating, tennis, golf and walking the Point.
Roberta loved Grimes Cove and was often seen swimming and sunning on most days
throughout the summer.
Roberta was such a kind, gentle and loving lady with a
winning smile and a good friend to all. Due to health concerns Roberta had not
been in residence at the Point for several summers now but I know she was
certainly there in spirit.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her son John and his
wife Cindy, her son Ray and his wife Laurie and her daughter Laurel along with
6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family is planning a reception sometime
this summer at Ocean Point.
Most members of the OPCT should have received the spring
letter and activities calendar via email. All of the current information is
posted on the website. There is a
Clean Up the Point Day planned on Saturday May 25 at 9:30 A.M, please meet at
the Casino.
Sunday May 26th a Town Hall Meeting is scheduled
for 4:00 at the Casino, don’t miss these 2 important events.
There are a few events on the calendar that are in need of a
Chair, Please contact me if you are interested in running any of these events.
Many of you may remember Bev Tabet the former hostess at the
Inn. Bev is a Technology teacher in New Hampshire but she is also an
accomplished photographer.
In her spare time she maintains the blog for the Ocean Point
Inn and has posted some beautiful pieces of her work there. This summer Bev,
along with photographer Kathy Tarantola are planning a weeklong photography
experience in Maine from August 21-25. You can get all of the information
regarding this event on the Ocean Point Inn blog, sounds like a wonderful
opportunity!
Hope to see you all soon, have a great week!
