Ocean Point Column
May 22, 2018
By Maryellen Bertrand
After many months of anticipation I am so pleased to say that the summer season is in sight and the Point will come to life once again!
The first order of business for the holiday weekend
is to be sure that our peninsula is looking pristine and so our
President Mike Anderson has asked us all to pitch in and join in the
community cleanup on Saturday, May 26 10 a.m. to noon, we will meet at
the Casino and venture out to different areas of the Point cleaning up
from what was a rather harsh winter. Gloves and trash bags will be
provided; please bring rakes, shovels and brooms.
At noontime all participants will meet at the Casino
for a light lunch. If you are able to participate please sigh up on the
website and many thanks in advance for your assistance.
Sunday afternoon there will be a Town Hall Meeting
beginning at 4 p.m. at the Casino to update all residents of the
Preservation Project along with updates on the work accomplished by the
various committees; you can register for this event on the website as
well.
Jenny Stevens recently shared some joyous news; she
is a first time grandmother to new baby twins! Jenny’s daughter Chelsea
and her husband Tim Reinsch welcomed Gunnar and Sadie a little less than
a month ago on April 28. I understand that all are doing quite well so
congratulations to all of the family and to first time aunt, Megan!
Along with traditional Memorial Day events, cookouts
and family gatherings please take a moment on Monday to remember our
brave soldiers who have died in service defending our country. Enjoy
your holiday weekend with family and friends and travel safely.
