Ocean Point Column
December 7, 2017
By Maryellen Bertrand
I don’t have a lot of news to report this week although I
did hear from some Ocean Pointers regarding their Thanksgiving holiday which
I’m happy to share with you.
Liz and Dick Colten spent Thanksgiving with the Dunn Family
and Liz describes the weather at the Point as beautiful.
Gail Ross travelled to her niece Susan Anderson’s home in
Waseca, Minnesota where her brother Chris joined her. In addition to Gail and
Chris, her nephew Peter his wife Jess and son Liam and Susan’s husband Luke and
his family were there as well.
Jean and John Webster and Jean’s sister Roni spent the
holiday in Dallas Texas with Jean and John’s son Stephen, his wife Teresa and
their daughter Nicole. Jean, John,
Roni and Steven attended the Dallas Stars/Calgary Flames hockey game one night
and sat in the Mary Kay box. John
reports that he witnessed his first hat trick live. They also attended the Main
Street theatre and had front row seats thanks to their daughter in law Teresa,
who is an administrator for the theatre.
The day after Thanksgiving found many Ocean Pointers
attending our dear friend and neighbor Bob Marden’s Memorial Service. The
outpouring of family and friends gathered at his Alma Mater, Colby College was
a fitting tribute to a beloved Ocean Pointer; the family is planning a memorial
at Ocean Point this summer.
Thank you to Rusty Court for the Thanksgiving photo and the
beautiful sunset photo taken on December 1, a special day for Dianne Eakin her
twin brother Denny and myself as we all share the same birthday!
Enjoy your holiday shopping and have a great week!
