Summer activities officially kick off this weekend beginning with the Horribles Parade Saturday July 1 starting on Van Horn Road at 9:30 followed by kid’s races and the first softball game.

 Later that evening please join us for the annual Chicken Barbecue to be held at the Casino.  Along with deliciously prepared Chicken, burgers will be offered too. Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share and your utensils. Tickets will be on sale beginning Wednesday morning June 28 through Friday June 30 at the Casino from our new AD Nick from 8-11. Donna Logan who is charge of tickets will be selling from 4-5 on Friday June 30 and then again on Saturday morning before and after the parade or by calling her at 633-7202. Ticket prices are as follows: Adult chicken $12.Child $8. Burger tickets are $5.00 for all.
Our traditional 4th of July events are always a fun-filled day for all Ocean Pointers so we hope to see many of you on Saturday.

Sunday July 2 the Town Hall Meeting will be repeated for those who were unable to attend Memorial Day weekend or for those who wish to revisit any of the first presentation regarding design plans by the Architectural Committee. There was a large gathering in May and the committee hopes to have a large gathering this time as well.

Rev. Wesley A.Smith, American Baptist Churches, USA (Ret.) Harvey Cedars NJ will be leading Sunday services at the chapel on July 2 beginning at 9:30,all are welcome.

Mark Sunday July 16 on your calendars; as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the chapel, the Maine Seacoast Mission will be visiting with their ship the Sunbeam and will offer tours of the facility on Sunday afternoon, times to be announced.

Daily activities at the Casino will be in full swing the week of July 3-8 with several activities planned. Senior Exercise will begin on Tuesday July 4 and then again on Thursday July 6 at 9:30.
On Wednesday evening July 5 a Kid’s Game Night is planned for 7:00 and the first of the Ladies Porch Parties is Thursday evening July 6 at 5:30;bring your beverage and an appetizer.

 The Food Sale is Friday morning from 9:30-11:00;bring your food items to the Casino by 9:00. Saturday is a busy day with the Pancake Breakfast that morning from 8:30-10:00 and Lobster in the rough will be served on the beach at Grimes Cove at 6:00 P.M.Lobsters, clams, corn and dessert as well as hot dogs are on the menu.  Please bring your beverage, utensils, a chair (if needed) and a salad to share. The price for the lobster with all the fixings is $15. and hot dogs (2) with all the fixings are $5.00.  Tickets will be on sale at the Casino or by calling Jonathan Dawson at 207-844-0419 or jdawson@maine.rr.com, Lobster tickets are limited to 50 participants, hot dog tickets are unlimited.

Thank you to the Activities Committee; Cookie Dana, Ginna Yerrall, Kathy Lindley, Donna Logan, Maureen Driscoll and tennis chair Susan Anderson for planning a wonderful summer of activities for all of us to enjoy. I hope to see you at many of these events throughout the summer.
