Ocean Point Column
June 15,2017

It seems as though we are racing towards summer and yet the
weather certainly has not been an indication of the season. I’ve heard from
many that they have not been able to play much golf due to all the rain and
cold of late.
This past weekend we were finally able to enjoy warmer
weather as temperatures became more seasonable; let’s hope that trend will
continue.
Ocean Pointe
families were here Memorial Day weekend readying their homes for the summer ahead
and many of them attended the Town Hall Meeting on Sunday of that weekend. The
Architectural Committee as well as Matt Lindley, Mike Anderson and John
Edgerton presented us with a possible plan for a new facility. In case you were unable to attend, the
Architectural Committee gathered all of our ideas and possibilities that we
compiled last year at our planning meetings and incorporated them into a
design. The plans may currently be seen on the website and there will be
another Town Hall Meeting On Sunday of the Fourth of July weekend for another
preview.
Please check out the new website as it has quite a bit of
information regarding current activities and what will be happening as the
summer approaches.
Our first major event will be held on Saturday July 1 with
our annual Horribles Parade beginning on Van Horn Road at 9:30 A.M. and will be
followed by races and the first softball game of the season. Later that evening
the Chicken Barbeque will be held at 6:30 and will feature barbeque chicken and
burgers. You are asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert and utensils.
Tickets will go on sale soon and I will keep you apprised of the days and
times. Donna Logan will once again be in charge of ticket sales.
David Butterworth is a member of the Fireworks Committee and
has asked that I inform you that the committee is currently seeking donations.
