Sadly, Ocean Point has lost another friend; Sylvia Schroeder passed away on February 28 with her family by her side. Sylvia, her husband Neil and their children have summered at Ocean Point since the early 70’s and quickly developed a love for the community and it’s residents. Sylvia will be remembered for her smile, her spirit and her warmth and compassion. The Ocean Point Community will miss her, our condolences to her children Rolf, Melissa and Kenny, her son in law Henry Bliss as well as her grandsons Owen and Sam. A memorial service is planned on March 11 at 11:30 A. M.  at the Purpoodock Club in Cape Elizabeth. Donations in Sylvia’s name may be made to the Ocean Point Colony Trust P.O. Box 642 East Boothbay Maine 04544.

There will be a memorial service for Danny Beal on Saturday March 25 at 10:00 A.M. at the Congregational Church in Boothbay, all are welcome to attend. The Ocean Point Community was so fortunate to have had so many summers of Danny’s music at our Sunday services; he will be missed as well.

Holly Hornor is enjoying the warmth and sunshine of California. Holly is visiting her daughter Hillary, son in law Nick and her 5 grandchildren. She is anxious for spring and summer and her return to Ocean Point.

The Activities Committee is finalizing this summer’s activities calendar to be sent out soon. We have many of last year’s activities with the addition of several new ones. Many Ocean Pointers have generously volunteered to chair an activity, however, we still need coverage for some activities. If you are available to help with the July Pancake Breakfast, the July and August Ballgame grills or the August Porch Party please contact myself or another member of the committee as soon as possible.
