Happy Spring to everyone, it certainly didn’t feel that way
last week as March came roaring in with snow and cold.
Connie Saindon enjoyed the snow on the slopes of Mammoth
Mountain and reports that her 3-ski trip to the area was a success; the
mountain has not experienced that amount of natural snow in many years.
March is one of our favorite months not only does spring and
daylight saving time arrive but also March Madness. We are college basketball
fans and look forward to the start of the tournament every year however, like
many of you our brackets have experienced major upset so now we must rethink
our final four predications, the rest of the tournament should be exciting!
Ocean Point has experienced it’s own March Madness. Some of
our younger residents have had successful basketball seasons. Congratulations to Jonathan and Luke
Yerrall and their teammates who were victorious in winning the Wilton CT.
basketball championship.
Kevin Rush’s
CYO basketball team from Salem MA. were undefeated all season and qualified for
their state tournament. They were successful in the first 2 rounds of the
tournament easily beating both teams; but despite a hard fought game in the
finals they were unfortunately defeated. Congratulations to Kevin and his
teammates.
Ginny Kern reports that she and Ted are doing well and are
looking forward to summer and spending time at the Point. Their son Sam will
graduate from Western Michigan University next month with honors and will earn
a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in Human Resources;
congratulations to Sam. Their son Grant is busy in Portland and is employed by
an engineering firm and daughter Jennifer is completing her first year at New
England College.
Sadly Ginny will not be returning as our AD this summer and
so we wish her all the best as she will take on a new summer position within
her current school system.
The AD search committee is working diligently to find a
replacement for Ginny and is confident that they will be successful.
Have a great week!
