Ocean Point Column
March 2,2017
By Maryellen Bertrand
The weather was exceptionally balmy the end of last week and
as a result melted all the
snow we received from the February storm. Sue Goodrich reports that Ocean Point
received 26 inches that day and she captured the beauty of the storm in some
spectacular pictures which she posted on the blog.
You may remember reading about Connie Saindon’s first ski
trip to Mammoth Mountain; well Connie’s second trip was just as disappointing.
Due to the severe weather conditions she and her group were not able to ski.
She reports that the blowing and drifting snow and high winds forced the
mountain to shut down. Connie has one more ski trip planned and hopes to report
on some great skiing.
Suzie and Pete Hamblett have spent most of the winter
travelling to their grandchildren’s sporting events. Helen Hamblett is playing
basketball for North Yarmouth Academy while her cousin Silas is playing hockey.
Devon Parker plays Division 1 lacrosse for Syracuse University and is having a
successful season scoring several goals for her team. Suzie and Pete and family
members drove to Syracuse recently to watch Devon compete and enjoyed their
venue, the Carrier Dome. They will
be travelling south and along the way will make a stop to see Peter Hamblett’s
lacrosse game at Ohio Wesleyan.
Congratulations to Daniel Boyd and Alyson Grover on the
announcement of their recent engagement. The couple is planning a July wedding.
Have a great week!
