Ocean Point Column Jan.26

Ocean Point Column
January 26,2017
By Maryellen Bertrand

It has been wonderful to hear from so many Ocean Pointers in the last few weeks sharing their holiday plans.
Jeff, Barb, Melanie and Michael Slayton were at the Point over the holidays to visit with Jean and then drove to Boston to meet the Yerralls for a quick get together.  Unfortunately there was a snowstorm the day they were planning to visit Gardens A Glow so they were not able to take the tour.

Jim Brown would like to wish all of his Ocean Point friends a Happy New Year. Jim apparently fell and injured his knee and was in rehab for a month so he was not able to send his Christmas cards this year. We’re all glad that you are on the mend Jim!

Congratulations and best wishes to Jake Fischer and Leah Friedman who were married this past weekend in West Orange, New Jersey. Many Ocean Point friends were in attendance to witness their nuptials. We wish them both many, many happy, blissful years together as husband and wife.

I know of many excited Ocean Point Patriots fans right now as the Patriots emerged as AFC champions this past Sunday, soundly defeating the Pittsburg Steelers. Congratulations to the New England Patriots on a spectacular victory.

Many of you may remember Jean Dodge who was postmistress at the East Boothbay Post Office back in the mid 60’s -70’s. Sadly Jean passed away earlier this month, our condolences to Jean’s family.

As I have mentioned previously, the Search Committee is currently formulating a job posting for the AD position at the Casino. It will be completed soon and will be posted on the website, the blog and in the Register as well as other various locations. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for the AD position please send your inquiries as soon as the job posting is made available.

Have a great week!
