Ocean Point Column
December 15,2016
By Maryellen Bertrand
Although the calendar officially shows one more week before
the arrival of winter we had our first taste of it on Monday with a mix of rain
and snow and the promise of the coldest temperatures of the season later in the
week.
Christmas is just around the corner and yet it seems as
though we just celebrated Thanksgiving. I know many Ocean Point family and
friends gathered for the holiday feast.
Chris and Coco Webber celebrated at the Point with all of their family
and several Ocean Point friends. Jean and John Webster celebrated with their
family in St Louis. Their daughter
Kim and her husband Michael hosted and were joined by their daughters Ava and
Grace. Jean and John’s son Stephen, his wife Theresa and their children Nicole
and Ethan also made the trip as did Jean’s sister Roni. Michael and Kim are
hosting a student from France this school year and Jean reports that he enjoyed
the Thanksgiving holiday with all of the Webster family.
Our condolences to Prudence Dawson and John Hatlem on the
recent passing of Prudence’s sister, Priscilla Kingston on November 25 in
Charlottesville, Virginia after a brief illness.
I’ve heard from several Ocean Pointers that the Festival of
Lights celebration has been hugely successful so far and so I would encourage
you to take some time from your busy routine to come and see for yourself, it’s
well worth the visit. Activities, shopping and dining will continue until
January 1.
Have a great week!
