Ocean Point Column

Despite the fall season coming to an end soon, the
Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays will find the Boothbay Region equally as
busy. The Early Bird is fast approaching this Saturday the 19th so
if you are in the area be sure to take advantage of all the deals that the
local businesses have to offer. Don’t forget to start your shopping day off
with breakfast at the Harborside Tavern beginning at 7:00 A.M.
Speaking of he
Harborside they are currently taking pre orders for Thanksgiving dinner.
Included in the dinner is roast turkey with all the fixings and for an
additional charge your choice of apple, pumpkin or chocolate pecan pie. See all
of the details on their facebook page or call them for more information at
633-4074.
Gardens Aglow will begin this weekend as well, you can
purchase your tickets on line via the Botanical Gardens website. This years’
event is expected to be larger than 2015. We are looking forward to attending
this spectacular light show.
It’s always nice to hear of long time Ocean Point friends
gathering during the off-season. John and Pat Waldman along with Bruce Lewis
and his wife Hona recently got together at the home of Ginny DeCeasar for
dinner and reminiscing about summer days gone by at the Point. Included in the
conversation was a detail that many of you may not have known; John Waldman
along with his partner Joanne Stickney won a tennis championship defeating the
team from Squirrel Island one summer. John was a powerful tennis player back
then and still enjoys a competitive game today.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday there will be an early
deadline for column submission next week so send your news to me early.
Have a great week!
