We are experiencing another busy week at the Point with
several activities happening.
Thanks to the Yerrall Family for a wonderful Ice Cream Social,
which was well attended, and enjoyed by all.
Our AD Ginny Kern organized a Scavenger Hunt last Friday
night with 17 kids participating in teams to search for a list of items. Two
teams tied for first place, the team of Jefferson Driscoll, Henry and Nara
Holland and Kevin Rush tied with
Caroline, Luke and Dillon Driscoll along with Meredith
Williams. The team of Jonathan and
Luke Yerrall, Kyle Rush and Luke Arnpriester placed second and in third, Zach
Arnpriester, Kate Lindley, Iris Williams and Sam and Owen Bliss. Of special
note was the singing of the Star Bangled Banner by Jonathan and Luke Yerrall,
Kyle Rush and Luke Arnpriester at the end of the hunt
Thanks to Link Brown the Memorial Tournament was held on
Saturday the 16th. As usual it was a very successful tournament with
20 golfers participating and the results are as follows: the winning team was Link
Brown, Chip Brown, Paul Cass and Lanny Whitehouse. Closest to the Pin on #2 was
Pat Anderson and on hole #15, Paul Cass. Longest Drive was Dave Finch and for
the women, Pat Anderson. We all enjoyed a delicious lunch at Over the Ledges
following the scramble.
The Danas, Browns and Whitehouses hosted the Porch Party
Saturday evening at the Casino where we all enjoyed delicious food and good
conversation, so thank you to those couples for a wonderful event.
This week the Attic Treasure Sale will be held on Thursday morning,
and is chaired by Barbara Newell, please plan to attend this major event from 9
until noon to find some new “treasures”.
Next Sunday July 24 the first Ball Game Grill will take
place immediately following the softball game. Bring a salad/side dish or
dessert to share, burgers and hotdogs are provided.
Rev. Garvey F. Maclean (Ret.) Minister of the United Church
of Christ will conduct Sunday Services on that day beginning at 9:30 A.M. at
the Wilson Chapel, all are welcome.
Connie Saindon will host a Mexican Train Game night on the
27th of this month; this game is quite popular with many Ocean Point
families and is sure to be a most enjoyable occasion.
Note the date
change of the Lobster Bake, which was originally planned for July 30 and will
now be held on Saturday August 6th. Information regarding ticket sales
will be forthcoming. Save the date for this event and come feast on lobster,
clams and all the fixings by our beautiful shoreline.
The Webster Family held a family reunion at their cottage
with 20 people in attendance enjoying good food and fun. Their daughter Kim and
husband Michael along with their daughter Ava were here for 2 weeks and joining
them were Jean and John’s son Stephen and his wife Theresa. Jean’s sister Roni visited for a week.
The Fuller Family will be enjoying their family reunion
beginning July 24 with all 18 family members here to enjoy the Point.
