Ocean Point Column
June 9, 2016
By Maryellen Bertrand
Ocean Point was certainly busy with residents opening their
cottages for the season and several Ocean Pointers returning their boats to
their moorings.
The first in a series of Town Meetings was held on Saturday
of the holiday weekend for the purpose of discussing the future of the OPCT’s
assets. The meeting was well attended and very informative. If by chance you
missed the meeting another one is planned for Sunday July 3 at 4:00 P.M. Please
plan on attending, as everyone’s ideas, opinions and input are needed; a third
Town Meeting is planned for August.
Be sure that the
Trust has your current email address so you can be contacted with any updates;
just to clarify, the email list that I use every week to send reminders and
updates is entirely different from the OPCT email list. Please do not assume
that because you are on the list that I use that you are on the OPCT list, that
may not be the case so please check your status.
Also, the survey that was sent this winter is still
available for you to fill out if you have not already done so and it can be
found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OPCT2015
Congratulations to Annie Fischer who received her Master’s Degree
in Social Work from the University of Denver on June 3. Annie and her fiancé
Matt Berg will be married in August at Newagen.
It was great to see Jake Fischer who was here for the
holiday weekend to attend the wedding of a college friend.
As the summer season is fast approaching please take the
time to review your spring mailing from our President Matt Lindley and the
activities calendar. It is quite full of activities for residents of all ages.
We hope that you will participate in as many of the activities as possible and
of course we welcome your assistance with any of the activities.
One of our largest activities is the Attic Treasure Sale
which is being chaired by Barbara Newell and assisted by Holly Hornor, thank
you to both of these ladies for chairing this activity. Please start to collect
your “treasures” to donate and further information regarding the sale will be
forthcoming.
It’s also time to think about the opening activity, the
Chicken Barbecue. There will be only one seating at 6:30 on July 2 and more
information on purchasing tickets will be available in the coming weeks.
Busy times ahead, have a great week!
