Ocean Point Column
April 28,2016
By Maryellen Bertrand
It was certainly exciting to be able to return to Ocean
Point this past weekend thanks to the BRWD. Several Ocean Pointers took
advantage of the opportunity to open their homes and the weather cooperated.
There is lots of exciting news for Ocean Pointers this
summer with the opening of some new eating establishments. Congratulations to
Kelly Farrin and Sasha Morin who will reopen the Carriage House after being
closed for many years.
Special
congratulations to Ocean Point chef Fiona Dunlap and her partner chef Greg
Warlo who has purchased Andrews Harborside. Fiona and Greg are extremely
excited with their new venture despite, what Fiona describes as” a long and
winding road “. The building is newly renovated and will be known as Harborside
Tavern. Fiona and Greg will keep some traditional fare (definitely the cinnamon
buns) but will strive to put their own unique spin on traditional Maine food. Fiona and Greg are truly grateful for
the support they have received from the community and look forward to seeing
everyone in May.
Golfers will be looking forward to the grand opening of the
new clubhouse at the golf course which is quite beautiful and Jean and John
Webster will be reopening Orne’s candy store May 6.
Congratulations to Christopher Webber who was recently
inducted into the Gouache College Hall of Fame for Lacrosse. All of the Webber
Family was in attendance for the special event.
As I have previously mentioned we are all very grateful to
all those Ocean Pointers who posted pictures on the blog throughout the winter
season. Not only is it a constant reminder of the beauty of our area but also a
reminder of how lucky we all are to be able to enjoy our time there.
Just a reminder to everyone that the Spring mailing has been
sent via email for you to download and print, If you are not currently on the
email list please do so in order to receive all of the pertinent information
regarding the OPCT and summer activities.
Have a great week!
