Someone forgot to inform Mother Nature that spring has
arrived as we were blanketed with 4-6 inches of snow on Monday. I hope this
turn in the weather is temporary; the water district is scheduled to have the
seasonal water turn on status report in early April. I’m sure that you are as
anxious as I to return to Ocean Point so keep your fingers crossed.
As promised Sue Clark just announced the publication of her
book, “Past Images of Ocean Point, Maine”. Sue’s book is a pictorial history of
the Point with 280 images in order beginning at Van Horn Rd and continuing along
Shore Rd. beyond Grimes Cove to Cunner Rock, it also depicts interior images in
order by street including the Casino, the Store, Fisherman’s, Ram and Burnt
Islands. Copies may be purchased from Sue Clark at latitude43designs@hotmail.com
for $50. Per copy plus $6.00 for UPS Priority Shipping, to reserve a copy you
may also call her at 207-998-9169. You might also want to visit Sue’s website
to view her unique nautical designs.
Ginny Rush recently met former Ocean Pointer, Debbie Balis.
Debbie and her husband Paul and their children Justin and Adam owned what is
currently the Coates cottage for many years. Debbie and Paul now have 2
grandchildren and enjoy living in Florida. They hope to return to Ocean Point
one day soon for a visit.
Donna and David Logan are excited to announce the birth of
their newest grandchild, Nelson David Seaman. Nelson is their 4th
grandchild and they are anxious to introduce him to Ocean Point and share in
all of the wonderful activities Ocean Point has to offer.
Suzie and Pete Hamblett enjoyed a “mini” reunion with their
family at Boston College recently. Their granddaughter Devon is a member of the
Syracuse University Women’s Lacrosse Team and Syracuse was playing at B.C. so
several family members travelled to Boston to cheer on Devon and her teammates.
Joining Suzie and Pete were Devon’s mom and dad Jennifer and Scott Parker,
Andy, Meagan, Helen and Chris Hamblett and John, Barb, Willy and Silas
Hamblett. Dave, Sue, Caroline and Sarah Kern also joined them for the game.
Happy Spring and have a great week!
