Ocean Point Column

Happy St Patrick’s Day to those who celebrate the occasion;
my family’s custom is to gather and feast on the traditional corned beef and
cabbage dinner and share happy moments and memories. We celebrated early this
year as everyone’s schedule is very hectic and we had a wonderful time.
Mike Rush held his yearly St Patrick’s Day breakfast with
many Ocean Pointers in attendance. It was great to see Maureen Driscoll and her
children Jefferson, Caroline, Luke and Dylan along with Margo Batsie and her
daughters Mary and Grace. Tom and Alexa McGonegal were also there with sons
Brendan and John. It was a well-attended event with traditional Irish music and
dancing. Mike’s daughter Ciara was part of the entertainment this year as she
performed with her Irish step-dancing group.
Congratulations to Kyle Rush who recently won the Cape Ann
basketball free throw shooting contest for grade 5 participants.
Exciting news from Sue Clark; her book about Ocean Point is
ready for release and she will announce the date as soon as she is officially
notified.
Jean and John Webster enjoyed the sun and warm temperatures
of Florida and took in a Red Sox game while on vacation.
There is some very happy news to share from the Webber
family. Chris, Hannah and baby Chip are moving east which will of course bring
them much closer to their families and Ocean Point; they currently reside in
Michigan.
The 2016 Activities Calendar is posted on the website for
your viewing, we have several activities that will require a chair, specifically
our biggest fundraiser the Attic Treasure Sale. If you are able to help with
this or any other activity we would be most grateful, please contact me at m.bertrand1@verizon.net if you wish
to volunteer.
The calendar will of course be part of the spring mailing in
early April. Please be sure that the OPCT has your correct email address if you
wish to receive the information.
Have a great week!
