Spring is just around the corner; the daffodils are
sprouting in our yard and the arrival of spring is an indication that we will
soon be back at Ocean Point.
Ocean Point
Colony Trust President Matt Lindley has announced that the annual spring mailing
will be arriving soon, this years mailing will be electronic so please be sure
that the Colony Trust has your current email. The contents of the mailing will
include membership information as well as the summer calendar of events; you
may contact Treasurer Jen Klein to update your information at treasurer@oceanpointcolonytrust.org.
Please note that the membership email is different from the Ocean Point email
list, they are 2 separate lists. For those who don’t use email there will be
hard copies of the mailing made available later in the spring.
Congratulations to Kelsey Bennett who was recently inducted
in to the National Occupational Therapy Honor Society, Pi Theta Epsilon. Kelsey
is currently a student at the University of New England pursuing a Master’s
Degree in Occupational Therapy. Kelsey and long time Ocean Point friend, Devon
Clark, got together and paid an off-season visit to Ocean Point.
Congratulations to William Rush and Meaghan Hallisey of
Poughkeepsie, New York who have announced their engagement, William is the son
of Mark and Flor Rush and grandson of Ginny Rush. William and Meaghan are planning a July 2017 wedding.
I am sad to report that long time Ocean Pointer Frank
Degrand passed away unexpectedly. Frank and his late wife Martha vacationed at
Ocean Point for many summers. They were often seen sitting in their Adirondack
chairs enjoying the sun and the company of friends as well as strangers who
often stopped to engage them in spirited conversation. Frank will be remembered
for his charm, quick wit and great storytelling, our condolences to Frank’s family
Nancy Ashcroft, Richard and Robert Silverstein and his grandchildren Molly,
Tess, Nate and Will.
Please remember to check the blog and website for any
additional updates and changes as the season progresses.
Have a great week!
