Ocean Point Column
November 12,2015
By Maryellen Bertrand
In honor of Veterans Day I would like to begin this column
by thanking all Veterans who have served or are currently serving our country
here and abroad; your dedication and sacrifice are greatly appreciated by all
of us. Please take a moment this week to personally thank a Veteran for their
service.
If you have not had the opportunity to view Hilary Boynton’s
You Tube video take a moment to do so. It is a wonderful 5-minute video that
Hilary has orchestrated to promote her new venture called Yum Yum. In last
week’s column I mentioned her project consisting of a series of cooking shows
that she hopes will go viral. She
needs your support to accomplish this so please consider supporting her.
Congratulations to Kevin Rush who recently participated in
the Massachusetts State Middle School Cross Country Invitational. Kevin placed
45 out of 200+ runners.
Holly Horner recently notified me of the passing of former
Ocean Pointer, Tish Kitchel Reed. Tish died October 14 in Washington D.C. at
the age of 87. Tish was a native of Waterville, Maine and spent many summers at
Ocean Point in what is currently the Eakin cottage. She and Holly’s Aunt Dossie
worked together in London for the CIA. Tish had just completed her
Autobiography prior to her death titled “Moving Forward Looking Back, Journey
of a Small Town Girl”, our sincerest condolences to Tish’s children and
grandchildren.
There is a very small supply of Ocean Point calendars left
for purchase. Please see details on the blog or contact Sue Goodrich directly.
Have a great week!
