The holiday weekend found many Ocean Pointers returning for
one last visit. Tom and Alexa McGonegal along with their children John and
Brendan were here as was Kevin and Dani McGonegal with their daughter Ellie.
Ellie was celebrating her first birthday, Happy Birthday Ellie.
The Arnpriester Family returned for the weekend as did Jim
and Lisa Rush and sons Kevin and Kyle. They all enjoyed some touch football in
the ball field and of course watching the Patriots defeat the Dallas Cowboys.
Coincidently Jean and John Webster were in Dallas for the
long weekend to visit their son Stephen, his wife Theresa and Daughter Nicole.
They were treated to a night at the theatre where Nicole is employed, Jean
reports they saw the contemporary play, The Droll, this play tells the story of
the loss of theatre in old England. Both she and John were also able to attend
Nicole’s school band competition, her band finished second in the competition.
I received a very sad email from Helen Evans Struve
regarding the passing of her cousin Bruce’s wife Ellen. Ellen was a schoolteacher
for many years and was recently honored by the Merrimac Library for her
dedication and commitment to children’s education and as a Trustee of the
library; the children’s library has been renamed in her honor. Ellen leaves her
husband Bruce, her son Andrew, his wife Janine, her son Justin and 2
granddaughters; our sincerest condolences to all of the Evans family on their
loss.
The Ocean Point Colony Trust convened for there fall meeting
and we welcomed 2 new Board members, Alex Hall and Dan Hare. The Card Cove
Association held their fall meeting as well.
Many residents were heading to winter quarters after the
long weekend and so I hope that you all reached your destinations safely. Just
a reminder to everyone to check the website and the blog periodically for any
updates regarding Ocean Point. Have a healthy and safe winter and remember to
send me your news.
