I’m sad to report that the Activity season here at Ocean Point is quickly coming to an end.  This final week was a busy one with many activities being held.
Thanks to Doreen Dun for conducting the Middle Road Rock Property Tour and to Susan Anderson for another successful Tennis Scramble. Ginna Yerral gathered all the young folks for a final scavenger hunt and Gail Ross and Ginny Rush hosted a very successful Food Sale. Thank you to the crew who assisted in making the sale such a success: Holly Hoarnor, Leslie Whitehouse, Kate Turpie, Coco Webber, Donna Logan, Georgia Chambers, Ginny Kern and Margaret Erskine. A special thanks as well to Ginny Rush, Kate Turpie, Connie Saindon and Anderson Pottery for your very generous donations and to all who baked and prepared food items to sell.

The busy week culminated with our Annual Meeting which was well attended. The membership voted on 2 new Trustees, Alex Hall and Dan Hare. If you have not yet paid your membership please remember to do so. You must be a member in order to have your name included in the Ocean Point Directory that is currently being updated and will be available soon.

Team Bertrand continued on their winning streak by defeating Team Yerrall 11-10 in this past week’s softball game.  Dan Anderson was key in bringing Team Bertrand to victory by hitting a line drive single allowing the runner on base to score. Although there were not as many players in attendance as in week’s past, it was still a high spirited and well-fought game on the part of both teams.

It was great to see so many of our softball players returning to Ocean Point for Kevin Haley’s wedding. Devon Demers and his wife Rachael were here along with Devon’s brother Dierk and his friend Meghan. Devon and Dierk’s cousin Nate was also here and is currently serving in the Coast Guard and stationed in Portsmouth. Dan Shea returned, as did Ben Ford and his friend Hannah.

Rick and Claudette Ford returned to enjoy a spectacular week of weather, as did Jeff and Barb Slayton with their daughter Melanie. Melanie is studying for her Master’s Degree in Accounting at James Madison. Her brother Michael has returned home to prepare for his sophomore year at Georgia Tech.

The Stevens household has been busy as family all gathered recently to celebrate Chelsea’s recent engagement.

Rev. Tom Lenhart Interim Senior Minister, Plymouth Church Brooklyn, New York will conduct Sunday Services on August 22 at the Chapel beginning at 9:30 A.M. Castlebay will provide the music for the service, for more information regarding this duo contact their website at www.Castlebay.net

Regular weekly activities (writing, Zumba, tennis and kid’s softball, kickball, field games and arts and crafts) will continue until Saturday August 29 at which time the Casino will close for the season.

Enjoy the beautiful weather and have a great week!
