Ocean Point Column
June 11,2015
By Maryellen Bertrand
Each weekend brings more activity to Ocean Point; the docks
are back in the water,
boats are beginning to appear on moorings, and the raft has
been put in place at Grimes Cove for swimmers.
Many residents are beginning to return as well. Kevin and
Dannie Mcgonegal were visiting Tish and Tom with their adorable daughter, 8
month old Ellie; this was Ellie’s first visit to the Point. Also making his
first visit to Ocean Point last weekend was Maxwell Robert Goodrich, new son of
Sarah and Noah Hoffman.
Sue Clark was in the area and busy delivering some new items
that she has designed for the East Boothbay General store. Please stop by when
you get a chance as Liz has some beautiful items for sale from various local
artists, you can shop and then relax and have a soup, salad or sandwich.
The Ocean Point Inn will be serving a full dinner menu this
Friday June 12 and the breakfast buffet will begin on Saturday June 13,the
buffet is open to the public for $12.95. Jim LaValle will be back entertaining
again this summer on Thursday evenings. Be sure to stop by their gift shop as
they also have some unique hand made gift items.
Congratulations to Abby Clark who recently graduated from
Springfield College. Abby was quite busy while at Springfield as she was not
only captain of the gymnastics team and won a national title on the balance
beam but she also managed to graduate with a 4.0 GPA.
Congratulations to Ted Gibbon who will be celebrating his 95th
birthday later this month.
On a sad note there will be a memorial service for Keith
Baumm who died suddenly last week. The service will be held on Saturday June 13
at 2:00 P.M. at Grimes Cove with a potluck luncheon/dinner to follow at the
Casino. The Ocean Point Community
would like to extend our sincere condolences to Keith’s family. There is a Face
book page with additional information.
Be sure to check the latest activities calendar on the
website as there have been some changes made.
Have a great week!
