Ocean Point Column
March 12,2015
By Maryellen Bertrand
Two significant events occurred this past weekend, Daylight
Savings Time and a break from the frigid temperatures. Will and I and Ginny
Rush spent an enjoyable Sunday browsing the shops in Portland and enjoying
strolling around the Old Port in what was a relatively mild sunny day, what a
treat!
John Webster continues to enjoy the fabulous ski season.
John recently skied at Mt Abram with Henry Bliss and his twins Owen and Sam.
John reports that they are quite the skiers for 6 years of age. Being a former
skier, Jean Webster declares that she is done with winter and ready to move
toward spring.
Congratulations to Max Laverty and Kendra Higgins who will
be married on Peaks Island in Portland this June. Max is the son of Bill and
Paula Laverty; the Laverty family has summered at Ocean Point for many years.
I recently caught up with Nancy and Andy Smith who had just
returned from a few weeks in Florida visiting Nancy’s mom Cora. Andy is
thoroughly enjoying his retirement and keeps busy with his interest in sports
car racing. They hope to visit Ocean Point this summer.
The Ocean Point spring mailing is currently being prepared;
included in this mailing will be the 2015 activities calendar and information
regarding membership and fees for the season. If you wish to receive this
packet it is important that the OPCT have your correct mailing address. If you
prefer an electronic copy please submit that request along with your correct
email address to Tom McGonegal.
Our activities calendar has a variety of great events
planned for the season and we welcome your assistance in all events. Please
contact me if you are interested in helping with an event or perhaps creating a
new one.
Enjoy the milder temperatures and have a great week!
