Ocean Point Column

The weather continues to be the major news item here in the
Northeast. However, despite the snow and cold of the region I have managed to
gather some news from fellow Ocean Pointers to share.
Record breaking snow and frigid temperatures has not
deterred several Ocean Pointers from their travel plans. Gail Ross recently
escaped the snow and cold of Michigan for a visit with her brother Chris and
sister in law Marilyn in Las Vegas and then on to Phoenix.
Jean and Jon Webster also travelled; John enjoyed skiing in
Colorado with long time friends while Jean flew to St Louis to be with her
daughter Kim, son in law Michael and her granddaughters Grace and Ave. While
there Jean enjoyed a night at the St. Louis Symphony.
Marilyn and Jack Heise planned to be at Ocean Point this
past snowy weekend with Carol and Dick Palmer to check on the status of their
house construction and to hopefully attend the Camden Conference with other
East Bootbay residents.
There is more exciting news from the Marden family. Brad
Marden and his wife Katie Moorlein are happy to announce the birth of their son
Renn on February 4th. Brad is the son of Bob Marden Jr. and his wife
Lydia and grandson of Bob and Scoop Marden, Congratulations to all.
I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Jean Vose and
her family on the death of her husband Dick. Dick’s parents Dick and Eunice Vose
along with Dick’s sister Jean summered at Ocean Point for many years in what is
now the Briggs-May cottage. He and
Jean moved to Nobelboro from Massachusetts in 1998 and continued to visit
friends in the area and enjoy the beauty of Ocean Point.
Have a great week!
