There was little news this past week however, there is some town news to report. Jim Chaousis is vacating his position as Town Manager to become Manager in Rockland. He will be replaced by interim Manager, Jim Bryer. On behalf of Ocean Point I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you for all the hard work that you have accomplished for the town of Boothbay. We wish you well in your new position in Rockland. Another bit of news that affects our community is that Hannaford's will be getting a face lift. This is certainly welcome news for residents and visitors alike. It is has been reported that the renovation of the store will be completed in time for the summer season.
I was very sad to read of the recent death of Jeff Frazier.
Long time Ocean Pointers will remember the Frazier Family who summered at Ocean
Point for many years in what is now the Hamblett cottage. Jeff’s grandparents
lived in the cottage currently owned by Coco and Chris Webber. Jeff was the son
of Bob and Jeanne Frazier and one of 7 children. Our sympathies to Jeff’s
siblings; Bonnie Bennett of Negro Island and Laurie Chrobak of East Boothbay
and also his brother Jim, and sisters Cheryl, Linda and Betsy, his dad Bob and his children.
Tom McGonegal continues to keep us all well informed with
information regarding issues that arise especially in the off-season. His blog
has certainly become a valuable tool to Ocean Pointers so thank you Tom for
taking the time to post.
If you are not
currently on the email list you may want to consider joining, as it is a quick
and effective way to reach out to other Ocean Pointers as well as receive Ocean
Point news.
Just to remind
everyone it won’t be long before the Ocean Point letter and summer schedule
will be forthcoming so if you prefer to be notified electronically then you
need to be on this list. Contact Tom regarding this.
Have a great week!
