Ocean Point Column
December 18,2014
By Maryellen Bertrand
It seems that the Point is quite busy these long winter days
with construction activity.
While on their daily walks around Ocean Point Cilla and Dick
Alden are excited to see the progression of the current construction of new
homes and the many renovations taking place. Cilla also mentions the extremely
high surf from the recent storm.
Cilla and Dick along with other Ocean Pointers will be
caroling at St. Andrews this week and sharing a pot luck dinner afterwards.
Julie Brown submitted some spectacular pictures of the Point
from that same storm which can be viewed on the blog. It is certainly a
reminder of the power of the sea that most of us are not able to experience in
the off-season. Thank you Julie.
Jack and Marilyn Heise are looking forward to visiting the
Point for New Years and checking in on the progress of their renovation project
in their new home and spending time with Ocean Point friends.
Congratulations to Dave Dudley on his recent Hall of Fame
Award presented by the Maine Innkeepers Association. Dave was acknowledged for
his outstanding commitment to improving and serving the lodging and tourism
industry in Maine. All of us at Ocean Point have first hand knowledge of Dave’s
tireless effort in helping to create what the Ocean Point Inn is today, thank
you Dave. We are all so appreciative of your role in creating such a fine
establishment in which to dine and vacation.
Once again the
Boothbay Region Art Association has honored Lou Landry for his confetti bowl
design. Lou was voted the people’s choice award by the foundation. You may recall
back in October Lou received first place honors in the ArtinMe show for this
beautiful bowl. Congratulations Lou.
Thanks for all your news and have a great week.
