Well it’s definitely official; summer is just a memory as we had our first snow of the season on Sunday. Despite the snow, wind and cold the day ended on an upbeat note as the Patriots crushed the Broncos placing them first in the AFC East.

Pete and Suzie Hamblett took a day trip to the Point recently to oversee some tree removal by Tim Wilcox in front of the Stevens cottage which Suzie reports as much improved, It was a perfect day at the Point with a high tide greeting them at Grimes Cove and still an abundance of green grass and lingering flowers.  On Saturday October 22 they drove to Cumberland to see their granddaughter Lincoln Hamblett compete in a cross-country meet, Lincoln and her Boothbay teammates are experiencing a very successful season. Suzie and Pete met Ted Kern who was busy running the concession stand.
It was exciting to hear that Meaghan Hamblett was named the new Executive Director of the Central Lincoln County YMCA. Congratulations to Meaghan in her new position; they are certainly fortunate to have found someone with all of her experience and talent.

Jean and John Webster’s granddaughter, Nicole competes in her high school marching band.  The Mustangs from J.J. Pearce High School of Dallas Texas recently competed in an annual competition against 24 other bands and were successful in placing in the top ten. Nicole is a sophomore and is following her brother who played horn for the band several years ago. Nicole is the daughter of Steven and Theresa Webster.

Congratulations to Mark and Cara Pond who have just become very proud first time grandparents. Adison Elizabeth Butler was born October 29th to daughter Ashley and son in law Rhett. Cara reports she is already a Steelers fan as she sent a picture of Adison wrapped in a Steelers blanket. She watched her first game Sunday night in her grandmother’s arms as the Steelers beat the Ravens. Not only is Cara extremely excited about the birth of her new granddaughter but she is also thrilled about the Steelers season.

Congratulations to Nancy and Fred Gale who recently moved in to their new home in Boston.

Glad to hear that John Dunlap is doing well recuperating from recent hip replacement surgery. Abby states that John is experiencing very little discomfort despite having had the surgery only a week ago.

Have a great week!
