Ocean Point Column

April 3
While many Ocean Pointers have been off traveling to the
warmer southern climates all winter Will and I headed for our last ski trip of
the season to a very cold, very snowy Franconia Notch this past weekend.
Someone forgot to inform the ski resorts that the Vernal Equinox officially
took place over a week ago, and that we should be experiencing spring skiing
and not mid January conditions. It snowed almost the entire weekend with gusty
winds and near zero temperatures at night. We have packed the ski gear away for the season and now look
forward to the warmer months of spring and summer. The snow is completely gone
from our yard, surely an encouraging sign of things to come.
Julie Brown wrote that the Point had a wind gust on 3/26 of
59 M.p.h. and that the snow is almost gone from her yard.
Ginny Rush recently spent some time in sunny Florida for
some R&R and was happy to finally be experiencing some warm weather.
Great news from Annie Fischer, she has been accepted into
the graduate program at the University of Denver to pursue her MSW. Also, Kelsey Bennett, daughter of Jay and
Maureen Bennett, is looking into graduate programs for next year. Kelsey is due
to graduate this spring from the University of Massachusetts. Kelsey is
currently a student in the Commonwealth College, which is the honors program at
U Mass Amherst. She will graduate in 3
years as opposed to the traditional 4-year program, Congratulations Kelsey on
all of your accomplishments!
I had a pleasant surprise when I started to read the April
issue of Down East Magazine. One of the articles features the Lustgarten’s
guest cottage on the Ocean Point Road. There are some beautiful pictures of
Linekin Bay and of their lovely home.
Please take the time to check out the OP Blog as there is
some pertinent information posted by Tom regarding the possible delay of the
seasonal water. Also check out the
tentative summer activities schedule which can be found on the website. If you
are interested in chairing or volunteering for an activity please contact the
Activities Committee.
Thanks for your news, another great weekend of March Madness
coming up. Have a great week.
