Ocean Point Column
March 27
By Maryellen Bertrand
Spring is finally here and with it brings my favorite time,
“March Madness”. Are we talking about college basketball or do we need to
include the weather in that term? I guess the old adage ‘in like a lion’
certainly rings true this year. With any luck the temperatures will improve as
quickly as the tournament is played.
Suzie and Pete Hamblett are enjoying the sunshine and the
beautiful beach in Jupiter Florida with their dog, Pepper. Suzie claims that it
is a very dog friendly beach. On their return trip home they plan to make a
stop at Virginia Tech to see granddaughter Devon play Lacrosse Devon is a
student at Syracuse University and is a member of the lacrosse team. The
Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team is currently ranked 3rd in
NCAA Division 1 so congratulations to Devon and her teammates. In February
Suzie and Pete traveled to Newton, Ma to watch Devon play outdoors against
Boston College surrounded by snow banks!
Marilyn and Jack Heise recently travelled to Washington D.C.
with their grandson for a grandparents vacation. Marilyn is currently writing a
book on the adverse affects of prescription medications. She would love to hear
from people who have had negative experiences in this area to include as part
of her research, You may contact Marilyn at 847-272-8081 or marilynheise@gmail.com or you can also
write to her at 2 The Court of Chapelwood, Northbrook, IL 60062. She would
appreciate all correspondence.
Spring also brings the upcoming Ocean Point membership
letter, which will be sent out in April. Among its contents is the summer of
2014 activities calendar, The Activities Committee is in the process of
finalizing the calendar. If you would like to chair or volunteer for an
activity please let us know. The calendar can be accessed through the OP
website,
Thanks for all your news and have a great week. Hope your teams
make the final 4!
